*By signing above, you are also giving authority to WEST U MORTGAGE to contact your
bank and confirm that the funds you are gifting are in your account or to paper-trail the funds you
have gifted to the borrower(s) if you do not wish to provide a bank statement showing the funds are
currently in your account.
GIFT LETTER INSTRUCTIONS
The following are instructions as to the correct handling of the Gift Letter and Check:
1. The Donor is to fill out the above form.
2. The Gift Letter should be signed by the Borrower(s) and Donor(s).
3. After completion, the Gift Letter should be sent to your Loan Processor as soon as possible.
4. The Donor(s) of the Gift should provide a Cashier’s Check, with the check made payable to the Borrower(s)
and the Donor(s) name printed on the check as the remitter.
FHA ONLY: The Cashiers check should have the account number of the account the gift funds were
withdrawn from and a bank statement from the gift donor showing the gift funds were withdrawn
from the donors account or a copy of the donors withdrawal slip or canceled check.
5. The amount of the Gift indicated on the Gift Letter must match the amount the check is made out for.
6. The Cashiers Check should be brought to closing and a copy should be sent to your processor at least 3 days
prior to closing.
7. Borrower(s) will then endorse the check over to title company at closing.

Cashiers Check into your bank account.
